i haven’t read this yet, but Superman was a direct lift of the idea from John Carter on Mars. The original idea is a lot more realistic. A man from one world is slightly more powerful after traveling to another world. Basically, Superman had the powers of a human sized grasshopper and ant put together. No flying. No heat vision. no x-ray vision. All of that came later. And, that was what happened to John Carter when he’s brought from Earth to Mars.
